About Randall Swearingen
Randall Swearingen is the founder and CEO of Swearingen Software, Inc. Swearingen Software has consistently been recognized as one of the industry's leading vendors of Radiology Information Systems, developing products that are user-friendly, fully functional, and offer exceptional value. Founded in 1982, the company has focused its products on answering the radiology management needs of hospitals and clinics of all sizes.
Randall Swearingen built Swearingen Software on principles that revolve around customer satisfaction. In fact, customer satisfaction is the most important single factor that goes into the day-to-day decisions.
Customer Satisfaction is also the driving force behind our annual users group conferences and the daily brainstorming sessions held at these events. Swearingen Software customers know that they have significant input on the direction that our software is taking. RISynergy is designed based on customer input. Randall knows that our customers use RISynergy daily, therefore, it has the capabilities they actually need, instead of what we think it should have.
While other vendors strive for maximum profitability, Swearingen Software focuses on achieving maximum customer satisfaction by meeting or exceeding customer expectations. The bottom line is that Randall Swearingen believes that customer satisfaction is not just an option, it is the natural extension of every software package that we sell.
Randall Swearingen holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Houston. He is a member of MENSA and is largely considered a thought leader in the world of Radiology Systems.
In addition to leading Swearingen Software into the next generation, Randall also spends his time involved in Houston Baseball (both professional and youth), local charities and organizations, as well as spending time with his wife Trish and two children Mickey and Charles (Named for Mickey Charles Mantle, his boyhood hero).
Randall also wrote “A Great Teammate” a biography of Mickey Mantle. Regarding the book, Randall writes “This is a dream come true for me for several reasons but, the main reason is that it allows me to introduce Mickey to a whole new generation of children. In today’s world where baseball is a business, it is refreshing to look back at when baseball truly was a game and when players were deserving to be our heroes.”

The RFP article was on the mark. More telling is that often times an RFP is sent out so procurement can make the purchase of a pre-selected vendor i.e. to get competing bids simply so that officially it can be put on the record that the contract was open to competition when in fact it was not.
